Helping a friend for ChristmasMe and my cubicle partner, Derek, became very close this year. He?s a bit older than me so he tells me a ton of stories throughout the work day which usually winds up slowing my work but I usually get yelled at any way cause this job is really hard. I?m actually surprised they hired me cause I never went to college. Derek told me the only reason they hired him is because he?s 55 and black so they got two birds with one stone he said . My dad has dementia . But Derek loves talking about women. He even likes that I have pictures of my wife Lauren at my desk. One day I cane in and he moved one of them to his desk. He said it evens it out that he has a picture at his desk too. I didn?t get it but that?s fine. He said it was his favorite picture at my desk . It was one of Lauren standing in a pair of black shorts and a pink t shirt. I said ok.Well around December 23rd Derek came in a little flustered. He said his wife is mad and he had to get a motel cause she wanted him out. I almost cried for him I felt so bad. I left for a minute to call Lauren. I told her that he?s been thrown out of his house for Christmas . I asked her what she thought of him staying in our guest bedroom. She said in the spirit of Christmas it?s ok. I hung up and told him that I spoke to my wife and we would love to have him do he?s not alone . He was so grateful. He told me to tell my wife thank you . We spoke the rest of the day about me and Lauren . I told him all about how we?ve been together since we were 21 and 20z now I?m 27 and she?s 26. I told him about how one day we want a big family. He asked how big and I told him that Lauren wants a lot of k**s just because she was an only c***d. But I did tell him we just can?t afford one right now which he understood because we don?t get paid much . He said as long as she?s on birth control it should be fine. She let him and would laugh. It was like we had a roommate . Not much of one since his bedroom was big enough for a full bed that was it. Better then being on the street though . I told them I was going to brush my teeth and hit the bed. The egg nog was worse than the rum even though I was super drunk from it .?We will be up in a bit little guy? They were on the cheek for the most part. One or two on her lips but I?m pretty sure they were accidents . Lauren didn?t notice much cause she was laughing so hard . She kept passing through the door and she thought it was hilarious . He even called her Over to him one time to tell her a secret he said but instead he kissed her lips again.After dinner and all the Christmas Eve choirs were complete we started drinking again. I lent Derek and old white ugly Christmas sweater . It didn?t really fit him. His belly was sticking out of the bottom and his fat was shaking when he would laugh. You could really tell how black he was though by how white the sweater was.
