Hannah Meets JillIt was nearly the end of term and Jill Clark walked back to her study. Outside were three girls looking nervously at their shoes as they faced the wall.She opened her study door, a heavy oak door with a wooden plaque saying ?Headmistress?.?Edwards, come in? she said holding the door ajar.The first girl was almost startled by this command. She had been waiting for ten minutes there.Bethan Edwards went in to the study and closed the door. She stood in front of the desk.Miss Clark looked at her in her gymslip.?Rudeness to prefects does not pay does it???No. No, miss.?Jill went to her cupboard and selected a swishy cane. She placed it on the desk with a rattle.?Bend over.?Bethan bent over and touched her toes. Jill Clark lifted her gymslip, tucked it out of the way and picked up the cane.In the corridor the other girls listened as the sound of six strokes of the cane were applied to Hannah?s bottom.An hour later Jill arrived at her house in a quiet lane nearby. There was a Morris Minor outside and a girl looking under the bonnet. She looked up at Jill and smiled.?Oh, hello. Some silly problem??Jill looked at the young woman. She was very attractive, blond collar length hair and a nice figure in a pretty summer frock.She was distracted momentarily by her beauty.?Oh, well, don?t know about engines but old Bill down the lane does. I?ll fetch him. Do come inside.?Inside the kitchen Jill put her bag on a chair.?Oh, it?s Jill Clark by the way? as she held her hand out.?I?m Hannah Hopton? replied the pretty girl taking her hand.For a moment there was magical frisson between them.Jill excused herself so she could fetch Bill. Hannah remained in the kitchen and saw a black book in Jill?s bag. She peered in. The label on the front said ?punishment book?. She took it out and opened it.?Gosh? she exclaimed. There were five entries for earlier in the week. She glanced at the columns showing name, form, offence, punishment. That day?s entries had not yet been made which was why Jill had brought it home. Hannah put it back in the bag as she had found it. She pondered how she had never been caned whereas some of her friends certainly had received corporal punishment and, when she had seen the results, she had been amazed by what she had seen.A few minutes later Bill came back with Jill.?Well my dear, soon have it fixed I?ll be sure? he said in his cheery rural voice.?Oh thanks? replied Hannah.Bill went outside to fix the car.?So where were you heading, Hannah???Oh, just a long weekend off so was heading for the coast.
